Time for a Better Half reality cooking show
I’m a big fan of reading cookbooks for leisure and watching cooking shows — way more than I’m a fan of the whole preparation process itself, especially if it involves me. I was amazed the other day, though, when I took stock of the diversity of cooking shows that television offers — couples cooking, ethnic cooking, 30-minute meals, a woman whose recipes all have a mere five ingredients, you name it. The list goes on and on and on. But I think there’s always room for one more show, and I say my Better Half is the chef to fill the slot in a reality cooking show format. It’s high time for a cooking show featuring a guy who whips up comfort foods in an anything-but-picture-perfect kitchen using real pots and pans and cutlery — not the stuff that costs about four or five mortgage payments. I’m talking real dented pots and pans with lids that don’t match but serve their function just the same.

When an ad for the Masters came on during some TV program we were watching recently, I perked up.
“It’s going to be spring. SPRING! Hoo-de-hoo!” I exclaimed.
“So,” intoned The Boss with gloom.
Chapter considers slate of officers
Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honor society for women educators, met at Ponderosa Steak House in Carrollton with Bonita Lucci presiding.

A program focusing on how to invest money will be held at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County Tuesday at 6 p.m.
