Pittsburgh Public Theater to stage 'Little Foxes'
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Public Theater continues its 35th season with Lillian Hellman's exquisitely crafted tale of greed and family "The Little Foxes."
Directed by Ted Pappas, "The Little Foxes" runs Nov. 12 through Dec. 13 at the O'Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater's home in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District.
Set in a Southern town in 1900, "The Little Foxes" opens with a party held for William Marshall (Philip Winters), a business man from Chicago who wants to bring his factory to the area. After the dinner, the extended Hubbard family plots their strategy to get richer from the deal. Ruthless brothers, Ben (Ross Bickell) and Oscar (John Shepard), want their social-climbing sister, Regina (Helena Ruoti), to get a loan from her banker husband, Horace (Michael McKenzie). Since Horace is in Baltimore being treated by a heart specialist, Regina sends their daughter, Alexandra (Lara Hillier), to bring him home. Oscar's timid wife, Birdie (Deirdre Madigan), wants to go with her, but her husband says "no."

The New Relics performing at Victoria Theater Saturday
WHEELING - The New Relics, a nationally touring country act, will perform for the Wheeling Jamboree at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Victoria Theater.
The New Relics return to the jamboree with a special treat, and a first for any artist at the Jamboree. The New Relics in 2008 brought a film crew to the jamboree to video the band's performance. That video has been turned into a DVD and Live CD package titled, "The Wheeling Jamboree." Both will be available at the show this weekend.
"We are really happy with the DVD. The Wheeling Jamboree and the Victoria Theatre are a fantastic place to shoot video. The performance was great as well," said bassist Josh Swiger.
The band is promoting its debut single "Beautiful" to country radio nationwide. The band won the discovery award for best up-and-coming artist from Music Row, the lead media and news service for the country music industry. The song was given a positive review by Robert Oermann and was compared with Brooks and Dunn, Gloriana, John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen, Ronny Milsap and Phil Vasser.
