WEIRTON - Charles and Mary Baker of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Weirton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 3 at Pleasant Valley Country Club. A surprise party was given by their children.

The couple were married Oct. 3, 1959, in Winchester, Va.

He is the son of the late John and Pauline Baker and is a retired member of Carpenters' Local 184 of Steubenville.

She is the daughter of the late Glenn and Phyllis Powell.

They are the parents of Amy Baker of Wintersville and Scott of Mesa. There are three grandchildren.
