Garden club cancels park cleanup
The River's Edge Garden Club's cleanup of Newburg Landing Park was canceled due to bad weather. Members will schedule final cleanup after the first hard frost. The club's meeting was at the residence of President Mary Jane Ighnat, who served a light supper and opened the business meeting. The minutes of the September meeting and the treasurer's report were approved. There were nine members present, and each answered role call by stating their least favorite gardening chore. Member also participated in Make a Difference Day. The November meeting will be held at the home of Mary Bilchak. The program will be on Biblical flowers.
Band Parents to host supper
The Toronto Band Parents will host a soup and sandwich dinner from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Toronto High School cafeteria. A variety of hot sandwiches, homemade soups and desserts will be available. Following the dinner, the Toronto High School Band will perform its annual varsity show beginning at 7 p.m. in the Toronto High School auditorium.

Tuesday - The Adventure Club will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday - The choir will practice at 7 p.m.
Thursday - TOPS will meet at 5:30 p.m.

The Riverview paper drive is the third Saturday of each month, while the ecumenical men's dinner is the third Monday of each month.
The Toronto Unit of the Salvation Army is in the church and is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
