Football players should be proud

To the editor:

In reference to the Big Red vs. Inkster football game, what a football game it was to witness and be part of as a Big Red fan.

I have always sat in the west end zone near the band since I was a little boy and now as a much older 49-year-old.

I noticed several Big Red fans became very disgruntled and depressed as well as negative-minded when Big Red found themselves down by two scores.

I immediately told some of those people that our kids will regain the lead 29-28, and with 5:31 left in the game, Big Red did just that. And then those fans had a change in attitude.

You Big Red kids proved me right when I was positive-minded that you would come back, and you did just that. Although the final score was not in our favor, the spirit of the game was.

I have a saying I wrote for myself and it is hand painted on the inside of my archery bow. This is what I wrote: "The spirit of the archer never shakes in the wind."

So if you change the word archer to stallion, it would be this: "The spirit of the stallion never shakes in the wind." That is the MRI of the nervous system of a mighty stallion. I am very proud of all you kids.
