WEIRTON - The new Fairfield Inn and Suites on Amerihost Drive off Three Springs Drive will welcome its first guests Nov. 10.

The new inn features amenities for business travelers and recreational travelers alike.

Of its 86 rooms, 27 are suites with separate living and sleeping areas and two are full two-room suites. The remaining 59 rooms are large standard rooms with two queen beds.

In the suites, there are televisions in the living and sleeping areas. All rooms have 37-inch flat-screen TVs. The well-furnished bathrooms in all rooms feature the Fairfield's trademark large green modern china bowl on the countertops. All rooms have refrigerators and microwave ovens.

The entire inn is a WiFi hotspot, but there are also hard-wired computer access available. In addition, off the lobby is the Business Library, an area featuring a fax/copier/scanner/printer and three computers for guest use, according to Barb Owens, general manager of the property.

The Weirton Fairfield Inn and Suites also offers The Boardroom, a meeting room equipped for business meetings.

In addition, guests may use a well-equipped exercise room, with treadmills, weights and an elliptical trainer machine, as well as the indoor pool and whirlpool.

Breakfast is offered at the Fairfield for guests weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The dining area features not only the motel-wide WiFi availability, but also hard-wired areas, just as any Internet cafe/coffee shop would have. Breakfasts feature Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches, Owens noted.

The decor in the smoke-free, three-story building is modern, featuring bright colors and bold shapes throughout the public areas and the rooms, but there is extensive use of woodwork as well. The spacious lobby is highlighted by a fireplace in the main seating area.

The Fairfield will host a private opening celebration on Nov. 10 before the 3 p.m. opening and a large public celebration and open house will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 13, Owens said.

Owens said there are 20 on staff now with hiring continuing.

Owen is a Weirton native and has been employed by the Weirton Fairfield's operator, SJB Properties of Athens, Ohio, for five years, at the adjacent Baymont Inn and Suites.
