Baron baseball to hold benefit
STEUBENVILLE -The Franciscan University of Steubenville Baron baseball team will host its third-annual benefit dinner and auction Nov. 21 in Malara Hall at Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville.
The event's proceeds will help fund the team's spring training trip to Cocoa Beach, Florida. The Baron baseball team, coached by Dr. Bob Marrow, has 27 players from 16 states, including six from the Ohio Valley.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and dinner, including a choice of rigatoni and meatballs or chicken fillet, salad and homemade desserts, will begin at 6:30 p.m., served by members of Stella Mariae Household. The evening's program will include a short video about the Baron baseball team, a live auction, Chinese auction and the 50/50 drawing.
Tickets are $30 per person or $50 for two people and can be purchased at the door or in advance at St. Joseph Chiropractic on University Boulevard or by calling (740) 284-5172.
Turkey shoot set
BLOOMINGDALE -The Jefferson County Sportsman's Club will hold a turkey shoot at the club range Sunday. Events include trap shoots with beginner classes and luck shoots. Shells and guns are available. The shoot is open to the public. Shooting starts at 11 a.m.

Big Red selling playoff tickets
STEUBENVILLE - Tickets for Steubenville Big Red's playoff game Friday at Harding Stadium against Alliance Marlington will be on sale to the general public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday at the ticket office.
The cost is $7 during the week and $9 at the gate. All playoff ticket prices are set by the OHSAA.
The high school will keep a portion of only the tickets sold at the school.
Playoff merchandise will also be on sale.

RAYLAND - Tickets for Buckeye Local's playoff game Friday against Canal Fulton Northwest will be on sale to the general public from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today through Friday.
The cost is $7 during the week and $9 at the gate. All playoff ticket prices are set by the OHSAA.
The high school will keep a portion of only the tickets sold at the school.
