The Serve Others Circle of King's Daughters and Sons held its October luncheon meeting at the YWCA.

Linda Cooper presided, led devotions with a reading from John 14: 1-3 and read an article from the Silver Cross.

Martha Jane Brondos gave the blessing. Helen Moore, Lucille Smith and Ruth Ann McLaughlin gave reports.

The circle aproved pledging amounts to each of the organization's departments. Katie Gardei made bookmarks for the circle to sell for $2 each.

McLaughlin presented the program, introducing Esther McCoy, food editor and columnist with the Herald-Star.

McCoy reviewed her years at the Herald-Star and talked about her column and her family.

Brondos was hostess, using a fall theme for the tables. Each member received a fall bouquet of live miniature roses.

The next meeting will be Nov. 17 with Katie Gardei as hostess and Lucille Smith presenting the program.
