CARRARA, Umberto, 96 of Follansbee, WV passed away Friday, November 6, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 3, 1913 in Petoranno Sul Eizio, Italy, son of the late Guytano and Carmella D'Aurora Carrara. His wife, Clara Leone Carrara in 2000, also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Italian Army, St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV, retired from Starvaggi Industries as a watchman, Garibaldi of Follansbee, and the Knights of St. Anthony in Steubenville, OH.

Surviving are, three daughters, Lina Santoro and her husband, Joe, of Follansbee, WV, Josie Merenda and her husband, Sylvester, of Follansbee, WV, and Anna Clouse and her husband, Greg, of Dayton, OH, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Pete Giannamore, as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
