February 21, 2010
The Herald-Star

To the editor:

On behalf of the mayor, City Council and myself, I want to acknowledge those who assisted the city this past week in clearing Wellsburg of the considerable snow that accumulated during the last several weeks.

During this difficult time, we found our local government, organizations and individuals to be generous, cooperative and professional. We wish to thank the following who contributed to our success:

Bob Fowler and the Emergency Management Agency staff; the Brooke County Commission; Sheriff Richard Ferguson; the West Virginia Department of Highways; Sgts. Huffman and Sanders and the National Guard; Dels. Tim Ennis and Roy Givens; state Sen. Jack Yost; the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department; Terry Stewart; Jim Kohout; Tim Diserio Jr.; Steve Mitchell Sr.; Bill Mahley; Bruce Hunter; Ed Zatta; the Village of Beech Bottom; the City of Weirton; the Brooke County Public Service District; the Washington Pike Public Service District; the City of Wellsburg's employees; and local businesses, churches, organizations and individuals who provided food during the clean-up.
