FOLLANSBEE - Bill and Fran Kowalik celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The two were wed June 9, 1951, at Methodist Parsonage in Follansbee.
He is an Army veteran, having served in the Philippines during World War II, and retired employee, with 30 years of service, of Follansbee Steel.

Born Frances Mihlbauer, she was a homemaker.
They have three children, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Miller, Sharon and Michael, all of Follansbee; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
After returning from a vacation at Canaan Valley Resort in West Virginia, they celebrated their anniversary again at a dinner with their family, who presented them 60 balloons and yellow roses.
