To the editor:
A few weeks ago, people who dealt with Huntington Bank received letters stating that they were closing our branch.
Mingo Junction has a lot of retired people who depend on this branch, since it is the only one left in town. Plus, there are other people outside the area who deal there.
They gave no reason for closing. I think it's because there are not many loans being processed there, but this is happening with all local banks.
Many people depended on Huntington to be there since they do not drive and have to have family members take them there. Now, they want us to go all the way to Hollywood Plaza to bank with them.
If they don't need us in Mingo Junction, why should we keep saving with them? The funny thing is that they spent thousands of dollars to remodel the bank and are now closing it. That doesn't make sense.
I wonder how they would feel if everyone in Mingo Junction would just say, "Sorry, you don't want us. We'll go to a bank that cares."
For all the women who work at our branch, we as patrons love how you cared for us, knew us by our names and smiled for us. You will be missed. Good luck.
