To the editor:
I used to think that people who complained about the officiating after a loss were only expressing "sour grapes," but after viewing the West Virginia-Syracuse and West Virginia-Pitt basketball games, I've changed my opinion.
The officiating at both of these games was deplorable to say the least. I don't and didn't agree with Bobby Knight's behavior, but I can understand why he was driven to such displays of anger.
The officials have many times taken away the enjoyment of the game from the fans and deprived the teams of fair calls.
For now and always - Go Mountaineers!
