NAMED: Konrod Morris has been named commercial relationship manager for U.S. Bank in Eastern Ohio, serving customers of its Brilliant, Hopedale, Smithfield, Toronto and Yorkville branches.

As commercial relationship manager, Morris will assist business owners throughout the area who wish to improve their company's financial outlook using U.S. Bank's treasury management, loan products, payment solutions, wealth management and trust services.

Morris has been in the financial industry for eight years. He is a graduate of Wolmers in Kingston, Jamaica, and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and his master's in business administration from the University of Phoenix. He expects to complete his doctorate in organizational leadership at North Central University in 2013.

ADDED: Zach Amedro is now the director of exercise physiology and athletic training at Nardone Chiropractic & Wx.

In his new position, Amedro will ensure proper training including dietary and nutrition, biomechanics and athletic training needs through direct care, team training and team seminar/workshop programs, including Nardone's proprietary and copyrighted "Keeping You In the Game: Maximizing Performance, Minimizing Injury" seminars. He also will offer personal training services to Nardone clients and the general public.

Amedro was a two-time Harlon Hill runner-up for National Player of the Year (the Division II Heisman trophy); the two-time Hardman Award winner as West Virginia Athlete of the Year (2009-2010); a two-time winner of the Pat White Award, given to the top college football player in West Virginia; and a three-time Baisi Award winner for WV Conference Player of the Year. The all-time leading passer in Division II history, he played professionally for the Canadian Football League.

Nardone opened his practice in 2002 and directly services West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania and has a national patient base. He also consults nationally for practice management, corporate wellness and personal injury.

PRESENTED: Kevin E. Raphael, a partner in the law firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, presented at PBI's 18th-Annual Health Law Institute recently in Philadelphia.

The firm has offices in Steubenville and Weirton, as well as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Sharon, Pa.

Raphael's topic was "Defending Against Fraud and Overpayment Actions by Insurance Companies: Emerging Theories of Defense," covering emerging theories of defense to insurance company actions regarding overpayment demands and litigation.

He also discussed the impact of recent decisions on federal RICO and fraud claims, in addition to the increased use of document challenges by health insurers, as a basis for pre-payment and post-payment review, and the defenses to such claims.

Selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2010 and 2011 in the area of Health Care, Raphael previously was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2005, 2006 and 2007 in the area of white collar criminal defense.

He speaks and writes extensively on white collar and health care litigation issues. He earned his bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was Phi Beta Kappa, and his law degree, again cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
