CARROLLTON - Carroll Electric Cooperative Inc. is celebrating cancer survivors, remembering those who lost their battle with the disease or those fighting back against cancer by raising money to help the American Cancer Society in its Relay for Life efforts.
Energy efficient LED night lights are now available at the cooperative office for a $5 donation per light. Proceeds from the purchase will be donated to the American Cancer Society, where the money will be used for research, education, prevention, advocacy and patient services.
"At Carroll Electric, our focus is people, not profit," said Larry Fenbers, CEO and general manager. "We live and work in the communities we serve, and participating in Relay for Life is one way that our employees and board can give back to the community."
The night lights have the Carroll Electric logo and an insignia that reads, "Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back: Relay for Life."
The night lights are available in two colors, ruby red and bright white. Night lights are available at the cooperative office during normal business hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. In addition, the lights will be available at the Relay for Live event on June 29.
Carroll Electric trustees, employees, members and their families have also started a relay team to show support for the communities where they live and work. Those who are a Carroll Electric member and would like to participate on the relay team can call the cooperative at (330) 627-8536 and express an interest.
Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated, according to an official.
