Weirton clergy, community volunteers and local organizations have joined forces to create the Table of Hope, "a place where everyone can enjoy a free dinner and good conversation in a welcoming atmosphere."

The Table of Hope, which will serve its first meal Monday, operates out of the First United Methodist Church, 3301 West St., Weirton. Dinners will be served Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Volunteers age 16 and older are needed to cook and serve with volunteers age 14 and up needed to set up, greet and seat guests, and clean up.

Pam Donohue will serve as coordinator for the Table of Hope and can be reached at (304) 670-9544 for information.

Monetary donations specified for "Table of Hope" can be forwarded to CHANGE Inc., 3136 West St., Weirton, WV 26062.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meals, according to Donohue. There are no forms to fill out or income guidelines to meet.
