Market Street Bridge photo available

April 25, 2012
From staff reports , The Herald-Star

STEUBENVILLE - The Market Street Bridge has connected Downtown Steubenville with West Virginia Route 2 and Follansbee for more than 106 years. Workers in December completed a nearly two-year, $15 million restoration project on the bridge, which was built in 1905 by Steubenville banker Dohrman Sinclair. In addition to repairs and painting, that work included the installation of decorative lighting, which makes the bridge an impressive sight in the night.

Michael D. McElwain, a photographer with the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times, has captured the bridge at dusk, just after the lights had been turned on, and residents of the Tri-State Area are now able to purchase that image.

A 12-by-18 print on Kodak paper can be obtained for $15, while a framed 12-by-18 print on Kodak paper can be purchased for $25.

The photograph of the Market Street Bridge is a perfect companion to McElwain's photograph of the implosion of the Fort Steuben Bridge. Copies of that photograph are still available at the cost of $15 for a 12-by-18 print or $25 for a framed 12-by-18 print.

As a bonus, both photographs can be purchased as a set for $25 for 12-by-18 prints, or $45 for 12-by-18 framed prints.

To purchase your copies of these photographs, visit the newspaper office at 401 Herald Square, Steubenville, or call (740) 283-4711.
