The Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Jefferson and Columbiana counties recently received a donation of $1,000 from the WalMart Foundation for 2012 program support and volunteer recognition.
Presenting the check to Desi Gampolo, RSVP program manager, were MaLinda Lewis, general manager, and Sean Arai, assistant general manager of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center No. 7017 in Wintersville.
RSVP is a program of Family and Community Services Inc. and has nearly 300 active volunteers in Jefferson and Columbiana counties. In 2011, RSVP volunteers contributed a total of more than 22,000 hours to local nonprofit agencies in the communities where they live and work.
