CHAFIN, Andrew Don, 79, of Weirton, returned to our Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Laurels of Steubenville, Ohio.
Born Oct. 20, 1932, in Weirton, W.Va., he was a son of the late Cecil and Cora Carter Chafin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Roy Chafin and his wife, Tina; brothers, Leondis and Cecil Chafin; and sister, Lelia Beatty.

One of Andrew's greatest passions was his service in the United States Army from which he retired after 20 honorable years of service. While he was in the Army, he was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War where he served on a gun boat stationed in Saigon during the height of the war.
Don married Mary Rose Dulaney in 1956 and enjoyed 55 years of happiness together. During their marriage, Don and Mary traveled extensively visiting and living in many different places and countries.
In his spare time, Don enjoyed gardening, woodworking, his model trains, and spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Don was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Rose Dulaney Chafin of Weirton; son, James Cecil Chafin (Tina) of New Cumberland, W.Va.; daughter Rose Lee Nartowicz (Terry) of Pine Grove, WV; six grandchildren, Marybeth Johnson, Andrew Louis Chafin, Christy Rena Brown, Terry Lee Nartowicz, James William Chafin, and Joshua Thomas Chafin; five great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Chafin of Indiana; and sister, Roberta (Bob) Hawkins of Columbiana, Ohio.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, W.Va., where funeral services will be held 11a.m. Thursday. Pastor Wayne Cooper will preside.
Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, Pa., with military services being conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.
