Moving On has 149 at meeting
Moving On held its April 15 meeting and luncheon at Undo's in Weirton with Norma Boni, president, welcoming 149 members and guests.
Joe Quattrone gave the blessing and Christine Brown the friendship reading.
Guests were Jackie Aikin, Margaret Ashbee, Marcia Croye and Bonnie James.
Thomas Graham sang various musical selections for entertainment.
The business meeting included various reports. Birthdays were acknowledged.
Jim Boulson and David Kramarich conducted the 50-50 drawing won by Margaret Ashbee. Undo gift certified were won by Ruth Santangelo, Jean Baird, Boulson and June Puskarich.
Spring-based table decorations donated by MarySue Hodovanic, Quattrone, Kramarich and Ross were won by Georgia Keppen, Ann Zmuda, Deloris Proakis, Puskarich and Jack Davis.
Puskarich won the $15 gift certificate from Margaret's Cafe and Toni Herron a browning dish.
Members were reminded that there will be no May meeting. The next meeting will be held June 10 at Undo's. The cost is $11 for the meal and $10 for dues.

'Take Charge of
Your Diabetes'
The Ohio State University/Jefferson and Harrison County Extension is sponsoring "Take Charge of Your Diabetes," an educational event with live demonstrations and insights to healthy eating and outlining new skills in managing diabetes at 6 p.m. May 14.
The seminar will be held at the Puskarich Public Library with those in attendance given the opportunity to sample the food.
Joseph Maiorano, family consumer service for both counties, and Chris Kendle of Tuscarawas County Extension, will provide the demonstration with the prepared food sampled by those in attendance.
"The first step in controlling blood sugar is also the hardest to control," Maiorano said.
The event is for those with diabetes and their family members or care givers. Reservations are needed and can be made by calling (740) 942-2623.
Four Seasons have
busy meeting
The Four Seasons Senior Citizens Association met April 18 at the Serbian American Cultural Center in Weirton with Angela Gillette, first vice president, presiding.
Chaplain Mary Rose Spano gave the invocation.
The Vinyl Classics provided entertainment.
Ron Sallett, a guest of Jane Barney, was welcomed.
Reservation chairman Josie Cekinovich reported 97 reservations, while Ruth Ladomersky, membership chairman, noted there are 169 members.

Thelma Bronson was awarded the free dinner from the club. Winners of the 50/50 drawing were Tom Maxwell and Ann Restaneo. Door prizes were awarded to Roy Posey, Dorothy Pashke, Barbara Libengood, Thelma Bronson, Virginia Riley and Jeanne Perito.
The next meeting is May 16.
Brentwood youth group kickoff set
The youth group at Brentwood United Methodist Church is undergoing some changes under the leadership of David Kaczmarek.
A kickoff celebration is planned at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church located at 148 Stephens St.
All area youth groups and any teens age 12 and up are invited to attend.
There will be live music featuring Fresh Direktion, which features Bobby Westfall, formerly of Kalled Out; Leah Bowman; and a local praise band. Pizza, snacks and other refreshments will be served, and there will be several chances to win prizes.
Key Club having
ACS fundraiser
The Indian Creek High School Key Club is sponsoring an American Cancer Society night at Giannamore's Pizza in Wintersville on Saturday.
Ten percent of the business' profit will be donated to the ACS.
The Key Club will host a mini Relay for Life on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:25 p.m.
Satellite office
open in Dillonvale
The satellite office of the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Dillonvale American Legion, Liberty Street, Dillonvale, to assist veterans, dependents of veterans, and/or veterans' widows with Veterans Administration pensions, compensations, burials, schooling, medical assistance and other veterans' benefits.
