GARDNER, Sara N., 84, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2012, at EORH in Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born April 20, 1928, in Ginter, Pa., a daughter of the late Glenn C. and Sadie (Minto) Bowery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. "Duck" Gardner on July 1, 2006.
Sara worked as an office manager for Dr. Ahn O. Pak's office in Brilliant. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing on her computer, especially chatting on Facebook.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Gardner of Dillonvale, Ohio, and Gary (Linda) Gardner of Brilliant; an adopted niece, Dolly Pratt Zavodny of Orland Park, Illinois; a brother, Marlyn (Joan) Bowery of Harrison City, Pa.; a sister, Jeannie (Lawrence) Glasgow of Harrison City, Pa.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where her funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sam Retzer, officiating. Interment will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
