To the editor:
Her heart pounds, tears swell and screams are heard as she gives birth.
A bundle 18 inches long and weighing 8 pounds is handed to the mother and cuddled to her bosom. This is her baby, hero or heroine - it doesn't matter to the mother. Because of her love, the tears never stop and the pain never goes away.
Whether a child is lost to illness, drugs or crime, or if it is tears of happiness when a son or daughter becomes a doctor, a valedictorian or nun, it doesn't matter because a mother's love is unconditional and forever.
Mothers will never forget the day in the maternity wards and hearing the doctor's cry of "It's a boy or girl."
Congratulations, and a happy Mother's Day.
