AMVETS Post 275 showed its support for the Jefferson County Veterans Association Memorial Wall by presenting a check for $500 for the project on May 11.
"We hope this will help highlight the great work the Jefferson County Veterans Association is doing at Fort Friendship, creating a place to honor local veterans and improving the memorial site," said Dan Wilson, AMVETS Post 275 commander.
Information about the association is available at the website www.ovvets.org/jcva.php. "There you will find details of the Jefferson County Veterans Association, how to become a member and how to order memorial bricks to honor a veteran who has served and is from Jefferson County," Wilson said.
Involved in the check presentation were Wilson; Bill Smythe, commander of the Jefferson County Veterans Association; Jay Kolenc, Frank Santa, Charles Strizak, Bryan Felmet and Jack Campbell.
