JONES, Earl Gary, 77, of Clearwater, FL., formerly of New Cumberland, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
He was born July 25, 1934, in New Cumberland, WV, a son of the late Oliver C. and Rhea V. (Carnes) Jones.
He is also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Polen, a brother and sister in-law, Darrell and June Jones; a brother-in-law, Dale Rice and a great- grandson, Jade.
Gary was retired from Weirton Steel Corp; an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his daughters, Jeanie Jones of New Port Richey, FL; Cindy (John) Chambers of New Cumberland, WV and Melanie Jones of Weirton, WV; a sister, Sharon Rice of New Cumberland, WV; a brother, William (Mary Alice) Jones of New Cumberland, WV; four grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Friends will be received Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home. Services and military honors will be on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Charles Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Chi Chi Rodrigues Youth Foundation, 3030 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, FL 33761.
