McCOY, Larry Scott, 51, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his home.

Larry was born April 7, 1961 in Steubenville, Ohio, son of Lamont and Esther McHugh McCoy of Smithfield, who survive.

He was employed at Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto since 1997, in the ultra-sonic department, and had some great friends there.

He attended Smithfield Elementary and Piney Fork Elementary; Buckeye North High School and Los Medanos College in Antioch, CA.

Larry loved fishing and it was his life's dream to live by the water, a goal he never achieved.

He was a member of the Mingo Sportsman Club and an avid Ohio State and Steeler football fan.

Larry was baptized at the Smithfield Friends Church in his youth.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John D. and Marian McHugh, and paternal grandparents Leland and Bessie McCoy.

Surviving are his girlfriend of many years Mary Koos of Wintersville; his parents, Lamont and Esther McCoy of Smithfield; brothers Jay (Margaret) McCoy of Lewis Center, OH, and Darin (Missy) McCoy of Plain City, OH; nieces Amber, Jessie and Maggie McCoy; and nephews Matthew and Jackson McCoy. Children he raised are Taylor Koos, Laressa Sharp, Zane Sharp and his little buddy Logan Koos, Aaron Koos, Jared (Noelle) Koos and Carter Koos.

Also surviving are uncles Donald (Rosemary) McHugh of Wintersville, Roger McHugh of Point Marion, Pa., Gerald Dale (Norma) McHugh of Smithfield; and aunt Dorothy (Andy) Toth of Smithfield.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home Inc., 107 Hill St. Smithfield, where Services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Wilford Simeral will conduct the service.

Larry had his long hair cut for Locks for Love in honor of his Dad, who had cancer in 2003.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Harrison County Relay for Life, c/o Anisa Rocchi, 80475 Croskey Road, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
