Leslie James ‘Boogie’ Maple

MAPLE, Leslie James "Boogie," 62, of East Springfield, passed away July 7, 2012, at Trinity West.

He was born June 11, 1950, in Canton, Ohio. He was the son of Mary Lou Maple of Bergholz.

Boogie was employed by Apex Landfill as a rail driver. He drove truck for many, many years. He had also been a coal miner. He loved spending time at the river with his wife. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with all his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Maple Sr., and sister-in-law, Mary C. Maple.

He is survived by his loving wife, the former Claire Murphy, of 42 years, four children, Mia (Brian) Shuman of Carrollton, Katina Maple of Wintersville, Jamie Maple of Bergholz, Leslie (Jessica) Maple of Mosinee, WI; 10 grandchildren, Saraya and Basia Shuman, Christopher and Keesha Leake, Kaiya, Kamryn, Ocyne, Oaura Maple, Blaze and Cade Maple; siblings, Robert (Donna) Maple of Carrollton, Valiant (Rose) Maple of Wellsville, Richard (Sharon) Maple of Byesville, Sue (Danny) Koterba of Bergholz, Ben Maple of Bergholz, Barb (Tim) Freeman of Bergholz, Martha "Ennie" Workman of Bergholz; and a lot of great loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather for visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Sweeney- Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
