WILEY, John R. "Dick," Jr., 77, of Toronto (Sugar Grove), Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1935, in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late John R. Wiley, Sr. and Esther L. Greenwood Wiley.
Dick was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and the Dyer Country Club where he loved to golf with his friends. He was retired from the Laborers Local Union 809 out of Steubenville.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Jane Cook Wiley who passed away in 2009 and whom he married March 17, 1955; brother Roy J. Wiley who passed away in 2005.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy (George) Peach of Knoxville, Ohio; son Thomas (Karen) Wiley of Knoxville, Ohio; grand children Christina Peach of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brandi Peach of Steubenville, Ohio; great-grandson Brendon Peach of Steubenville, Ohio; brother Gerald (Joyce) Wiley of Knoxville, Ohio; sister Pat (Richard) Yocum of Colorado; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive and his faithful dog Blackie.
A memorial service celebrating Dick's life will be held Wednesday 11 a.m., July 11 at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, County Road 68, Toronto with Pastor Bob Welch officiating. Interment at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery will take place at a later date.
