OWINGS, Gerald L. "Jerry," 60, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, in the ER in Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.
Jerry was born on Nov. 18, 1951, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Wayne and Carrie (Zurcher) Owings.
Jerry was retired from Weirton-Steel Corp., where he worked as a machinist and welder. He was an avid golfer and a member of Spring Hills Golf Club.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Labanna.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy L. (Timlin) Owings of home whom he married on Dec. 2, 1972; his daughter Brandy Devereaux, of Steubenville, OH; his son Jeremy (Ashley) Owings, of Toronto, OH; his grandson James Devereaux and his granddaughter Olivia Owings; his brother Ronald (Becky) Owings, of Carrollton, OH. Jerry is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Cola.
Visitation for Jerry will be held on Sunday, July 22 from 12-2 and 5-8 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where his funeral service will be held on Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jeff Proya will celebrate the service and burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
