MITCHELL, Shirley A. (Wells), 77, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, at Acuity Specialty Hospital.
She was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late George J. and Lillian A. Jenkins Wells.
Shirley was treasurer of the Steubenville Big Red High School Alumni Association; past president of Steubenville Womens Club. past state president of the Ohio Federation of Womens Club; and a member of the Woman's Advisory Board at Trinity Health System.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas A. "Mitch" Mitchell, whom she married on Oct. 15, 1955; and brother, Dohrman J. Wells.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin T. (fiancee Tammy Burrell) Mitchell of Wintersville, OH, and Kenneth L. (Pam) Mitchell of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Katie and Alex Mitchell.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
