Harry Striker

STRIKER, Harry William, 80, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away at Lanica Royale Villa Thursday evening, July 26, peacefully with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Edna (Shannon) Striker.

Harry was a member of Mt Zion Methodist Church in Irondale, Ohio.

He was retired from Weirton Steel where he worked the boiler house for 43 years. He served his country in the United States Army for four years.

Harry was preceded in death by a son, John Striker; brother Jim Striker; and five sisters, Virginia, Wilma, Leona, Susie Gray, and Ruth Galloway.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Dora (Bell) Striker, married for 58 years; one son, Brian (Janice) Striker of Richmond, Ohio; and one daughter, Doreen (Rob) Alexander of Weirton, WV.

He was blessed with six grandchildren, Nicholas, Angelina, Brandon Alexander of Weirton and Laura, Johnny and Karen Striker of Richmond, OH.

He has one brother, Charles (Myra) Striker of Richmond, OH, and one sister, Mary (Ken) Deweese of Chardon, OH, surviving, and many nieces and nephews.

Harry will be remembered for his love of avid writing on many topics, such as government, religion, laws, and just general life. He loved gardening and planting trees. He loved nature and working outside and his family.

He was a member of many organizations and clubs, and received many certificates. He loved to talk and discuss many issues involving politics, he would always share his opinion.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond, OH, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012, with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating.
