RAWSON, Robert E. "Sonny," 75, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at his home.
Sonny was born on Nov. 16, 1936, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late John and Josephine (Myers) Rawson.
Sonny was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and member of Dyer Country Club. Sonny was retired from Weirton-Steel Corp., where he worked in the general office as supervisor of Claims. He also was a veteran of U.S. Army.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Brem) Rawson of home; his two daughters, Julie Rawson of Ashland, Ohio, and Mary Lynn (Steve) Lewis of Toronto, Ohio; his two grandchildren, Shane Lewis and his fiancee Rachel Happ of Toronto, Ohio, and Morgan (Adam) Starr of Toronto, Ohio; his two sisters, Grace (Chuck) Lemmon-Post of Prescott, Ariz., and Betty (Rocco) D'Amico of Steubenville, Ohio; his brother. Daniel (Brian Shields) Rawson of Chatham, N.J.; his two nephews, Ron and David Lemmon and their families.
Visitation for Sonny will be held on Monday, July 30 from 4-8 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, Ohio.
Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto followed by his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 a.m. the Rev. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass.
Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
Knights of Columbus Rosary Service Monday at 3:15 p.m. Vigil service will be at 4 p.m.
