Brian Brick

BRICK, Brian Douglas, 22, of Romney, WV, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, as a result of a drowning accident in the Tygart River in Barbour County, WV.

Brian was born March 22, 1990, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA, son of Samuel A. and Patricia (Allinder) Brick, Jr. of Romney, WV.

Brian was a graduate student in the MBA program at WVU in Morgantown. He graduated with honors from WVU, May 2012 with a degree in accounting.

Brian was a 2008 graduate of Hampshire High School. He loved playing soccer and tennis. He was a member of the Hampshire High Band and the Italian Exchange Program. He was passionate about learning and technology.

"Brick" loved life and had a tremendous sense of humor. He never met a stranger and enjoyed the good times spent with his many friends at WVU and at home.

Surviving along with his mom and dad are his beloved brother, Billy Brick of Bunker Hill, WV; his paternal grandmother, Alice Brick, Marlton, NJ; maternal grandparents, Rev. Samuel and Rosemary Allinder, Wilton, CT; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney on Saturday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 5 at 2 p.m. at the Augusta Church of Christ, Augusta, WV, with Pastor Gerald Hott officiating.

A scholarship fund has been set up at the First National Bank of Romney in Brian's memory. Donations may be sent to Brian Brick Memorial Scholarship, c/o Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Brick, Jr., HC 63 Box 2370, Romney, WV 26757.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home.
