PATTERSON, Delbert C. "Pat," 93, of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born May 17, 1919, in Dennison, OH.
The son of the late John R. and Pearl Marie Baker Patterson. He was also preceded in death by a brother; Earl D. Patterson.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army, World War II veteran, VFW Post 2716, 25-year club of Weirton Steel Company, and a retiree of the Army reserves. Pat retired in 1983 as a turn foreman in the strip steel of National Steel Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Leidner Patterson, whom he married in Dennison, OH, on Nov. 26, 1949; son, Scott Patterson (Patricia) and their son, Jackson Patterson, all of Herndon, VA; sister Virginia Phillips of Weirton, WV; brother, John L. "Tod" Patterson of New Philadelphia, OH.
Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 3721 Main St., Weirton, WV, Thursday 5-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Conrad presiding. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Military funeral honors will be provided by Weirton Honor Guard and the West Virginia Honor Guard.
