WARD, Harvey B., 93, of Follansbee, WV and Englewood, FL, died Aug. 15, 2012.
He was born in Monroeville, NJ. Harvey was the eldest child of the late Harvey Bates Ward Sr. and Edythe Richman Ward. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Naomi W. Norman; and brothers, Robert E. and Lester H. Ward.
Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted and served for four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

Harvey was the former board chairman and president of Bank of Follansbee and Follansbee Insurance Agency respectively. He was past master of Wellsburg Lodge 2, AF& AM and a member for over 56 years in Scottish Rite, SJ USA and in Osiris Shrine, Wheeling, WV. Harvey was a deacon, trustee, elder, and choir member of the United Presbyterian Church of Follansbee, and an active member of numerous civic and fraternal organizations in Follansbee.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Virginia Humes Ward; and daughters M. Ellen (son-in-law Louis) Fusco, Brenda E. Ward, and Marcia W. (son-in-law Kevin) Pufpaff. Also surviving are his granddaughter, Erin Fusco and her husband Karl Seigfried; sisters-in-law, Cecelia Lee Groff and Dorothy M. Ward; four nieces; and two nephews; and beloved havanese Cai.
Family and friends will be received at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by formal procession and funeral service at United Presbyterian Church of Follansbee at 1 p.m., Rev. Colleen Molinaro presiding. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH with full military honors by the Ohio Valley Memorial Veterans Squad.
