WILKS, Charles J., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 18, 2012.
He was the last surviving son of Sophia and Jacob Wilks who preceded him in death along with his wife, Kathryn F. Wilks. Chuck leaves behind his eldest son, Charles J. Wilks Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Cottage Grove MN, his daughter, Janice Lee, and her husband, David Wilburn, of Lake Wales, FL and Kathleen Wilks of Pensacola, FL. Chuck was proud of his six grandchildren and 10 great grand children who reside in FL and MN.
Chuck was a Naval veteran of WW II and a life long electrician by trade. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
He will be missed by his many friends and neighbors who brought great joy with their visits and kind gestures.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam with Fr. John McCoy officiating. Entombment will follow with full military honors in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.
