POPE, John R. "Jack", 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.

Jack was born on June 5, 1926, in Toronto, OH, son of the late Raymond and Agnes Holub Pope.

Jack was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto, OH; he was retired from the Ohio Edison Toronto Plant where he had 43 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 583 F&AM in Toronto. Jack was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country during W.W. II.

Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Mudron Pope of home; his son, JR Pope, of Champagne, IL; his brother, Emerson (Bonnie) Pope, of Steubenville, OH; his grandson, Logan (Christine), and his great grandson, Copley, all of Sugar Grove, NC and his granddaughter, Taylor Pope, of Columbus, OH.

Visitation for Jack will be held on Saturday, August 25 from 3-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where his Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. Rev. Michael Bongart will officiate the Service and burial will follow in Sugar Grove Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH. Miltiary Graveside Honors will be presented by the Toronto American Legion Post 86.
