Ruby Mallett

MALLETT, Ruby I., 92, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Thursday August 23, 2012 at the Country Club Manor Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born March 11, 1920 in Stafford, Ohio, a daughter of the late Herman and Nellie (Willison) McElfresh.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert C. Mallett on December 2, 2009; a son, James A. Mallett; four brothers, Floyd, Glenn, Walter and Earl McElfresh; three sisters, Viola Kenny, Pearl Green and Opal Lazure; and a granddaughter, Deborah Mallett.

Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the LaBelle View Church of Christ, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are a daughter, Thelma Jeanne (Richard) Horton of Millersburg, Ohio; three sons, John (Judy) Mallett of Steubenville, William (Lettie) Mallett of Bloomingdale, Ohio and Douglas (Cindy) Mallett of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Todd R. Horton, Holly Bennett, Daniel Mallett, Amy Joy Adams, Lynn Smoak, Danica Guthrie, and Megan Phalen; and 10 great-grandchildren, Robert T., Andrew, Christopher and Samuel Bennett, Rachel and Travis Smoak, Addison and Logan Mallett and Elliana and Alyxandra Adams.

The family would like to thank the Country Club Manor for the wonderful care they gave Ruby during her stay there; and a special thank you to Charity Hospice who cared for Ruby in her final days.

Private services were held on Saturday at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, with Thomas Arehart, Minister, officiating.
