ELSON, Cynthia Jean, a homemaker, 63, of Lee Ridge Road, Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH, passed away at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH, Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012.
She was born Feb. 12, 1949, in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Wayne Samuel Merrill who passed away April 22, 1996, and Wilma Louise Merritt Merrill who passed away June 20, 2012.
Cynthia was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill. She was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson Union High School and loved her grandchildren and loved working in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lori Jo Merrill who passed away in 2000.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Kenneth Paul Elson, Sr. whom she married July 1, 1967; daughter, Jayme Elson of Steubenville, OH; son, Kenneth Paul Elson, Jr. and companion, Nicki Rosiak of Steubenville, OH; grandchildren, Alexia and Sam Elson of Steubenville, OH; sisters, Frankie (Ron) Shumard of Wellsville, OH, Sereena (Paul) Andreozzi of Toronto, OH and Leesa (Rob) Russell of Hatfield, PA. She is also survived by her loyal dog Paco and loyal cat Olivia.
Friends and family will gather for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 30th at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church; State Route 213; Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH.
A celebration service of Cynthia's life will be held at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, Thursday at 8 p.m. with the Reverend Jeff Proya officiating.
