Reunion group meets tonight

The Follansbee High School Class of 1958 reunion committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Vito's Restaurant in Follansbee.

The date was incorrect on Tuesday's community page.

Any class member who would like to be on the committee is invited to attend.

85th anniversary

celebration set

The GFWC-WV Follansbee Twentieth Century Club will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at Drover's Inn to celebrate the organization's 85th anniversary.

Cost of the meal is $15, which includes tax and gratuity.

Those planning to attend should contact Sally DiGiacinto, treasurer, at (304) 527-2511 to RSVP no later than Saturday.

September ushers in a membership drive, and the club will participate in Follansbee's Christmas in the Park in October.

No Country Friends Monday

Although Country Friends has canceled the Monday jam session because of the Labor Day holiday, the Friday jam session and Saturday dance featuring the Eldurays are not affected.

Toronto Senior

Citizens meet

Doris Matyas presided at the Toronto Senior Citizens meeting on Aug. 23 with Lola Swanagan leading in opening ceremonies.

Reports were given by Joyce Dobbs and Rosemary Bonofine.

Swanagan reported on upcoming trips. The bus for Hartville will leave at 7:45 a.m. Thursday from Stratton and 8 a.m. from Toronto from the parking lot at the municipal building. There are a few seats open for the trip to Vermont on Oct. 1-5. The trip on the Gateway Clipper will be Oct 9. Members are to be at the Marina at 9 a.m. The trip to Denmark, Norway and Sweden will be July 12-24, 2013.

Members having birthdays and anniversaries in September were singled out.

The September kitchen committee includes Mary Alice Meyer, Robbie France, Paula Krensavage, Shirley Rebich, Sally Bauman, Pat Ferrell, Dorothy Kliner, Becky Swickard and Cecelia Petras.

Joyce Dobbs won the door prize, and Dee Fouts won the 50-50 drawing.

Bingo winners were Doris Matyas, Mafalda Rocchio, Barbara Lyons, Wanda Woodward, Phil Cicone and Rose Dials.

Scat winners were Rosemarie Cieslak, Jane and Huck Hanuscin, Marilyn Peckens and Cecilia Petras.

The next meeting will be held Sept. 13 at the Roosevelt Building.

Kiwanis taking

orders for roses

Steubenville Kiwanis Club are continuing their annual fundraiser, taking orders for roses through Sept. 11.

A dozen roses are $18 - $25 if mailed - and are delivered in the Steubenville, Wintersville, Toronto, Mingo, Weirton, Follansbee area.

Orders can be placed through any club member or by calling (740) 314-9574. The delivery date is Sept. 18.
