DAWSON, Emily (Alexis) Gillison, M.D., 58, of Steubenville, OH, died in Acuity Care Center, Steubenville, OH.
She was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Steubenville, OH, to John L. and Grace Zantt Gillison.
She was a 1971 graduate of Steubenville High School, a 1975 graduate of Muskingum College and a 1979 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Dr. Dawson practiced internal medicine and OBGYN for many years in the city of Steubenville and Columbus, OH and was a very dedicated physician to her patients. She was a member of First Westminister Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Grace Zantt Gillison and one sister, Barbara Bowens.
She is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Dawson of Steubenville, OH; one son, Julian Gillison of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, Lee (Juanita) Gillison of Wintersville, OH and Jeffrey (Anita) Gillison of Hopedale, OH; her friend, Craig L. Dawson; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Westminister Presbyterian Church, Steubenville, OH with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, 6-7 p.m. at the Vinson House of Mortuary.
