Piney Fork Presbyterian Church responded to a request to support a mission trip to Malawi as Karen Edwards, Nancy DeStefano, Mary McElroy and the Rev. Matt Camlin will be traveling there for two weeks to visit Presbyterian churches already in relationship with Upper Ohio Valley Presbyterian Churches and establish new relationships between churches.
Piney Fork and several other churches were asked to support the trip financially or with items needed for the Malawian churches.
Judy Parkinson and Lisa Cline's Sunday School classes have been collecting money for mission over the past year. They split the proceeds between Laughlin Chapel in Wheeling and the UOVP Malawi Mission Trip, donating $250.00 to each.
Piney Fork youth went on a shopping spree collecting reading glasses, pencils, pencil sharpeners, Band-aids, toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Malawians. The group from Piney Fork met with Edwards to transfer the materials and have an ice cream treat before classes resumed for the new school year.
