DELATORE, Helen V. Ferroni, 93, of Steubenville, passed away October 15, 2012, at Dixon Nursing Home.
She was born April 7, 1919, in Mingo Junction, a daughter of the late Cesare and Amelia Morroco Ferroni.
Helen is also precedded in death by her husban, John Delatore, daughter Dinae Cunningham and son-in-law, Eugene J. Barney, brothers, Alfonso and Sam Ferroni and sisters, Fanny Tague, Anna Jones, Mary Holdinski and Sue Zaben
Surviving are two sons, John (Ruth) of FL, Ron (Elsie) of Steubenville and daughters, Mary Jane Barney of Bloomingdale and Patricia Cogley; brother, Charles (Barbara) Ferroni of FL.; sister Mary Alice (Ron) Mitchell of Mingo Junction, OH; grandchildren, Gene ("K) Barney of Bloomingdale, Karen Rulong of IN., Christy (Aric) Hilmas of CO, Laurel (Jason) Walsh of DE, Paul (Natalia) Delatore of NJ and Corey Vadasz of Ming Jct.; nine great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kaylee Rulong, Malissa, Julia and Justin Hilmas, Emma, Johnny and Tyler Delatore.
Helen was a Catholic and worked at the former Bell&Steel Drug Store for five years and the former Ohio Valley Hospital for 10 years.
She was a loving wife and mother and her favorite saying "Excuse me for living."
Best known for her home baked bread and pies, which she made weekly for her husband, children, family and friends. We wish to thank Dixon Healthcare and the Eucharist Ministers of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for there care of our Mother.
Calling hours are Thursday 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 1:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Fr. William Cross, celebrant. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
