Churches having ‘trunk or treats’

Wintersville Community Chapel

Wintersville Community Chapel at 27 Ward Drive is planning a "Trunk or Treat" for Oct. 31 at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"We will have members of our congregation in the parking lot with their car trunks decorated and filled with treats to give to the children," a church spokesperson said.

Costumes are welcome but not required.

In the fellowship hall, there will be chili, popcorn balls, hot chocolate and other treats for children and adults alike.

The event is free and open to the public. Questions can be directed to Pastor Adam Bowman at (740) 264-7873.

Toronto North River Avenue Church of Christ

Toronto North River Avenue Church of Christ's youth group will again be sponsoring its annual Trunk of Treat night for school-age children and beyond on Oct. 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the city's Halloween parade.

Costumes are optional.

There will be snacks and games in the church social room as well as candy distribution from various open car trunks throughout the church parking lot at 207 N. River Ave.

Brooke Hills Free Methodist

The Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church will host its second-annual Trunk 'n Treat event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 28.

It will be held at the 18th Street Park in downtown Wellsburg.
