Lou Gentile willing to help

To the editor:

I live in a subdivision that borders state Route 22. When I moved here, this four-lane highway ended at the bottom of Reeds Mill hill and was not heavily traveled. After it became four lane all the way to state Route 7, traffic increased. With the addition of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center and the gas drilling development, large truck traffic is a constant, day and night. The noise from the air brakes these trucks use interrupted our sleep and ruined our outdoor enjoyment. It is nearly impossible to converse outside at times. It had become an annoyance to me and my neighbors.

I tried calling many times to address this problem. I never received return phone calls. My neighbor and I finally called and spoke with state Sen. Lou Gentile. We received a return phone call from his office the next day asking for the particulars regarding our problem. We the received a phone call from the proper department to get the highway across from our homes declared a "no jake brake" area. Our township trustees supported this resolution.

I want to thank Gentile and his staff. I did not know him before this, but I?am grateful for his help. He is truly dedicated to addressing the issues concerning his constituents. I will be voting for him and hope that you will too.
