Richmond Lions welcome Johnson

November 6, 2012
The Herald-Star

Lions District 13G Gov. Beth Johnson recently visited the Richmond Lions Club headed by president Phil Flenniken.

A member of the Clayland Lions Club and an elementary principal, Johnson shared her goals which include encouraging District 13G clubs to receive training to use the three vision screeners to screen preschool children in local schools.

She also said she would like club members to devote a half-hour a week to read to children in local elementary schools.

In other business, the club approved glasses for two adults in the Edison School District and recently participated in Festival in the Woods and Quaker Day. It was noted that approximately 200 pairs of glasses collected were turned over to Lens Crafters.

Flenniken reminded members that the Zone 5 meeting will be held at Zalenski's Restaurant on Thursday and that John Stalder, second vice district governor, will visit the club that day.
