James ‘Jamie’ Wellington

WELLINGTON, James "Jamie" Jr., 57, of New Cumberland, WV, surrounded by his loving family, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

Born Feb. 28, 1955, in Weirton, WV, son of the late James Wellington Sr. and Frances (Bennett) Watson.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a former dispatcher for Kerry Limo. He was also a dedicated member of Beaches Chapel in Jacksonville Florida, where he met many lifelong friends and companions.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth E. Watson; maternal grand parents, Earl and Connie Bennett; aunts, Jeanne and Ann Bennett, and his uncle Dwight and aunt Edie Long.

Surviving are a sister, Kenya (Dean) Watson Patterson of New Cumberland; a brother, Kendall (Regina) Watson of Chester and by a nephew, Justin Lipps, and a niece, Kaitlyn Herstine, both of New Cumberland.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group and the WV National Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for funeral expenses to the Nixon Funeral Home, 614 Washington St., Newell, WV 26050.
