To the editor:
As a nation we all need to take a step back and look at what our country has become. Twenty states have started petitions to succeed from the union out of fury from the overwhelming power the national government holds over the states.
It is not surprising that our nation is falling apart at the seams considering we are failing to see the necessity of holding together the basic unit of society, the family. If we as a country placed a higher emphasis on keeping families in tact than we would have lower crime, divorce and poverty rates. If we can lower the rates of crime, divorce and poverty, we will not have to pump insane amounts of money into social programs that will be paid back by my generation.
