STEUBENVILLE - A ceramic mural depicting Trinity Health System's mission in the community was dedicated Tuesday by Bishop Jeffrey Monforton of the Diocese of Steubenville.

The mural, installed in the Gill Lobby of Trinity Medical Center West, was a gift of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Trinity's sponsor organization since 1960. Sister Jane Mary Sorosiak, O.S.F., a member of their community, designed the mural and, with the help of Sister Margaret Hall, O.S.F., made each individual piece.

"Some of the pieces are done in relief to add depth to the work, and then we glazed and fired each piece," Sorosiak said. "I thought the theme of the Good Samaritan fit the mission and core values of Trinity Health System, and I used the health care images to exemplify that the staff at Trinity are all Good Samaritans."

The mural, which took more than 12 months to complete, measures 25 feet-by-16 feet and was recently installed on the east wall of the Gill Lobby by Hans Klinck, Trinity spokesman Keith Murdock said

"We cannot thank the sisters enough for this wonderful gift and we are sure local residents will enjoy it for many, many years," he said.
