CLARKSBURG - A 32-year-old Marianna, Pa., resident pleaded guilty on Friday in connection with a 2010 bank robbery in Weirton.
U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II announced that Jessica Crawford entered a plea of guilty to charges of bank robbery for her involvement in the Dec. 3, 2010 robbery of the United Bank on Three Springs Drive in Weirton.
The plea was entered before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull in U.S. District Court.
According to information released by Ihlenfeld's office, Crawford was charged for her involvement in this and five other bank robberies with her then boyfriend, Rudolph Todd Haladyna, formerly of Clarksville, Pa.
Haladyna has already been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for his involvement in these robberies.
Officials state Crawford was the get-a-way driver in most of the robberies, which included two robberies of the Charleroi Federal Savings Bank in Bentleyville, Pa., in September 2010, two robberies of PNC Bank in Redstone Township in Fayette County, Pennsylvania in October 2010 and a robbery of Huntington Bank, Cheat Lake Branch, in Morgantown, in November 2010.
Crawford, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 25 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Robert H. McWilliams Jr. and investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Virginia State Police.
