Christmas spirit
Winners of the Follansbee Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas lighting contest were announced Tuesday and presented $100 cash prizes. In addition to a residence of each ward, the James Funeral Home was named a winner for the first time. Taking part were, front, from left, Charlotte Kolenc, a chamber member and the contest’s coordinator; Eric Fithyan, owner of James Funeral Home; Gilda Birmingham, 3rd Ward winner; Melinda Ohler and Becky Johnson, who with Bill Johnson were the 1st Ward winner; and Martha Diamond, 5th Ward winner: and back, Don Birmingham, 3rd Ward winner; Angela Kocher, who with Bill Kocher was 2nd Ward winner; Bill Moorman, 5th Ward winner; and Chamber President Tony Paesano. The 4th Ward winners were Peter and Linda Tomaino, who weren’t able to attend.
